Bank Phishing & Spoofing Scams

Phishing and spoofing is the most common type of fraud affecting bank customers today. Scammers often pretend to be Union Savings Bank in an attempt to steal your personal or account information.

What Union Savings Bank Will NEVER Do

Your security is our priority. For your protection:

  • We will never ask for your online banking password, PIN, or full access code.
  • We will never send unsolicited calls, emails, or texts asking you to verify or update your username, password, Social Security number, account number, debit or credit card number, or PIN.

If you receive a request like this, it is a scam.

If you’re ever unsure, hang up and call the number on the back of your card or contact our Customer Service Center directly at 866.872.1866. Learn more.

Note: We may send verification codes to confirm your identity.

What To Do If You Receive Suspicious Communications

If something doesn’t feel right:

  • Do not click links or open attachments.
  • Do not reply to the message.
  • Do not share personal or account information.

Instead, hang up and call us directly at 866.872.1866 or use the number on the back of your card. Learn more.

Remember: Caller ID can be spoofed and should not be used to confirm a caller’s identity.

If You Already Responded

How Scammers “Spoof” You

Scammers can make emails, texts, and even phone calls look like they’re coming from Union Savings Bank. They may:

  • Manipulate caller ID so our name and phone number appear on your screen
  • Send emails or texts that look official, using our logo and branding
  • Create fake websites that closely resemble online banking

Their goal is to create urgency — claiming your account is “locked,” “compromised,” or “deactivated” — so you act quickly without verifying the request.

What is Phishing?

Phishing is a scam delivered by email, text, or phone that asks you to click a link, open an attachment, call a number, or share sensitive information.

These messages often:

  • Claim there’s suspicious activity on your account
  • Ask you to confirm or verify personal information
  • Direct you to click a link to “secure” your account
  • Request that you provide or repeat a security code

Once scammers obtain your information, they can attempt to access your accounts and steal funds.
