DANBURY CONN – (December 22, 20225) – Union Savings Bank announced today it will continue its sponsorship of Spice City Futbol Club (FC) — Danbury’s professional indoor soccer team. The home opener is scheduled for 5:00 pm on December 29 at the Danbury Ice Arena, 1 Independence Way.

“We’re thrilled to continue our support of Spice City FC. Last season was a tremendous success where we were able to help bring Danbury families together through sports — sharing their passion and fun for professional indoor soccer,” said Chelen Reyes, President and CEO of Union Savings Bank.  “Initiatives like this align with our mission to not only support growth and development in the city but also foster a sense of pride and unity in our area.”

“Spice City FC represents the kind of investment that strengthens Danbury’s economy and enhances our quality of life,” said Danbury Mayor Roberto Alves. “It’s great to see families coming together downtown, supporting local businesses and generating real economic activity. I’m grateful to Chelen Reyes and Union Savings Bank for their continued leadership and commitment to Danbury, along with the many local partners who are helping make this success possible.”

Spice City FC tickets are on sale now at SpiceCityFC.com with season ticket options available for just $12 per game. They are offering 35 percent off on season tickets with a promo code HOLIDAY.

The home schedule at the Danbury arena is as follows:

  • Monday, Dec 29 at 5:00pm (Opening night)
  • Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 5:00pm (First ever Youth Soccer Matches at the Arena and a meet and greet with the Spice City Professional Team)
    Sunday, February 22 at 3:00pm
  • Sunday, March 8 at 3:00pm
Saturday, April 11 at 7:00 pm
  • Sunday, April 12 at 1:00 pm

According to Reyes, the sponsorship is also a nice tie-in with the bank’s new GoalGetter family banking program, which is designed to help kids and teens ages 5–17 learn smart money habits that last. There are some exciting contests planned around this at the home games where kids will get called to the field for a chance to win prizes.  To learn more about GoalGetter, visit unionsavings.com/GoalGetter.
