Union Savings Announces USB Voice ID Software

Community bank integrates security-enhancing technology with customer service center

Danbury, CONN. (November 6, 2019) – Union Savings Bank has rolled out a new voice recognition feature, called USB Voice ID, allowing users to verify their identity with their voice instead of using PINs or passwords.  This free feature is available now for Union Savings Bank customers.

“At Union Savings Bank, we value our customers’ security and their time, which is why we are so excited to introduce this new feature,” says Cynthia Merkle, President and CEO of Union Savings Bank. “The voice recognition software expedites customer service, giving customers access to their sensitive information using their voiceprint, which is just as unique as a thumbprint.”

Eliminating the need to spend time answering security questions and memorizing various passwords, USB Voice ID is convenient, simple and secure. Enrollment is a one-time, quick and easy process. This voiceprint will then be used to confirm the customer’s identity each time they call the Bank.

This ease of access is important to consumers. According to a joint study by Coleman Parkes Research and Opus Research, 85% of consumers are frustrated with the current authentication methods that are typically required to verify one’s identity when contacting their bank such as passwords, PINs and knowledge questions. Of these frustrated consumers, 90% would prefer voice biometrics. Expediting this access while enhancing security is critical, as there was a 126% increase in the reported number of exposed consumer records containing sensitive personally identifiable information (PII) from 2017 to 2018, according to the Identify Theft Resource Center.

With this new voice recognition software, Union Savings Bank is continuing to stay on the cutting edge of banking technology, offering customers the highest level of products and service available. USB Voice ID is breaking boundaries of banking technology.
